My PC (on Linux Mint 19.3 cinammon when it first happened) had this error. It started with the usual Busy Box initramfs error which we solved with forced fsck, it settled down for sometime.
Then, the filesystem turned read only, there were over 1000 bad sectors on disk. It wouldn't let me repair it, fix it via disk utillity (even if I did, the hard drive would add more bad sectors).
Fsck never worked, zero-ing out the drive didn't work, cleaning partitions, cleaning all installations didnt work, reinstalling.
(the fast boot setting is disabled)
Now, im unable to boot. I only face an error: Boot Order not found. Initializing defaults. OR: Unexpected return from initial read. That's it. The screen sits on black with -
