I was trying to upgrade a perfectly working 18.04 to 19.04 . After long time the process freezed and was showing a black screen with a cursor . I tried to Ctrl-Alt-Del but it was showing the same screen after the ubuntu logo . The screen blinked a few times and i could just get a glimpse of white screen saying "Oh no Something has gone wrong" . I tried editing grub with nomodeset but couldn't boot it was showing the same screen after the ubuntu logo. Thanks in advance for everybody who can help .
