I have a Macbook from 2008 (Intel Core2 duo) running Ubuntu 20.04. The primary display (on the laptop screen) is fine, and I'm plugging the external monitor in through a DVI-mini display adapter (like this). The 2nd display (external) comes through, but it's really unstable. Half the screen is jumping in and out, colors changing everytime I move the mouse or type anything. It's like watching old DVDs with bad compression where squares are constantly adjusting, except it's happening across the whole screen.
